1The principle
A QR code hides its destination until it is scanned. That is convenient, and it is exactly what makes codes useful to scammers. QR Craft is built to be on the honest side of that line, and so must the people who use it be.
This policy forms part of the Terms of Use. It applies to the App and to this website.
2What is not allowed
Do not use QR Craft to create, print, share or scan anything that:
- Impersonates a person, business, bank, government body or brand you are not authorised to represent.
- Phishes — sends people to a page built to collect passwords, card numbers, OTPs or personal details under false pretences.
- Distributes malware, or links to a site that does.
- Defrauds — including codes stuck over someone else's payment code, fake parking, fine or delivery notices, and fake charity appeals.
- Encodes someone else's personal data — contact details, a UPI ID, a photograph — without their consent.
- Breaks the law where you are, or where the code will be read.
- Harasses, threatens or defames anyone, or carries content that is obscene or harmful to children.
- Infringes copyright, trade marks or other rights, including by placing a brand's logo in a code you are not entitled to use.
3Payment codes
UPI codes deserve their own line. Do not create a payment code that misrepresents who is being paid, place a code where it could be mistaken for another business's, or use the App to collect payments for anything prohibited above. If you accept payments in a shop, print your own code, check it with a real payment, and check the standee regularly — sticker-over-the-code fraud is common and it is stopped by looking.
4Tampering with the App
Do not try to unlock paid features without paying, fake or replay purchase receipts, modify or repackage the App, automate it at scale, or interfere with the ads that fund the free plan.
5Reporting misuse
If you have come across a QR code made with QR Craft that breaks this policy, tell us at contact@epsilondevelopers.xyz. Include a photo of the code and where you found it.
Because codes are generated on the device and we hold no copy of them, we cannot disable a code that is already printed — but reports tell us what defences the App needs next, and we act on them.
6Consequences
Breaking this policy ends your licence to use the App. Where we are legally required to, we cooperate with law-enforcement requests. We may also report abuse to Google Play, to a payment provider, or to the brand being impersonated.
